Description:
Our client is a Norwegian energy and technology group operating across offshore wind, drilling, and well services. Headquartered in Bergen, the group delivers project and engineering services, well operations, and rig assets to major energy operators globally, with offices and operations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.
The internal IT function supports the full group with system implementation, custom development, integrations, data platforms, and integration platforms. A dedicated Power Platform team — staffed both in Norway and through a near-shore development centre in Manila — delivers business-facing applications, workflow automation, and platform-based solutions across finance, HR, operations, and project delivery functions. The platform has been in active use for five to six years and is a strategic component of the group's digital landscape, with growing investment in Dataverse, Copilot, and enterprise-grade governance.
We are seeking a Power Platform Architect / Administrator to take technical ownership of the Power Platform estate and act as the quality gate for the team's deliveries. The role combines hands-on solution architecture across new and existing applications with platform administration responsibilities — licensing, environments, governance, security, and ALM. The successful candidate will set direction for the offshore development team, ensure that incoming business requests are matched to the right platform and pattern, and lift the overall maturity of how Power Platform is delivered inside an enterprise context.
Key Responsibilities
Own the technical architecture of the Power Platform and roadmap across Model-Driven Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and Dataverse
Establish and maintain the Center of Excellence (CoE) framework, including governance, security, DLP policies, and licensing strategy
Lead platform governance forums and act as final technical authority on platform decisions
Mentor senior developers and specialists; set the technical bar for the Power Platform team
Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Compliance to ensure alignment with corporate IT strategy
Advise senior management on platform investment, risk, and capability decisions
Evaluate incoming business requests and decide platform fit — when Power Platform is the right choice and when it is not
Design and review integrations between Power Platform, Azure services, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and other enterprise systems
Establish and enforce development standards, solution patterns, naming conventions, and review practices across the team
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
8+ years in enterprise application development, with at least 4 years architecting solutions on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, Dataverse)
Strong knowledge of Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Entra ID), Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365 integration patterns
Proven architect-level experience designing enterprise Power Platform solutions, including ALM, environment strategy, and governance frameworks, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub) and solution layering
Solid administration experience on a multi-environment Power Platform tenant, including licensing, security, DLP, and platform monitoring
Microsoft certifications preferred — PL-600 (Solution Architect), PL-400, AZ-305
Business analysis and business process mapping skills with ability to read a business problem and translate it into the right technical solution
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the autonomy to drive technical decisions and engage non-technical stakeholders directly
Comfortable operating as the senior technical authority on the platform by setting direction, pushing back on poor fit, and defending quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Dataverse data modelling at scale, including integration patterns with Azure data services and enterprise data platforms
Track record of working with and lifting the quality of offshore or distributed development teams
Hands-on experience integrating Copilot and AI features into Power Platform applications
Experience working in a regulated or safety-critical environment (energy, oil and gas, maritime, finance, healthcare or similar)
Familiarity with adoption tracking and usage analytics for delivered Power Platform solutions
Experience operating as the bridge between citizen development communities and enterprise IT delivery
Nice to Have
Exposure to ServiceNow, SAP, or other enterprise systems commonly integrated with Power Platform in industrial environments
Pre-sales or solution scoping experience with business stakeholders
