Operating Partner, Portfolio Companies
Location: Remote, Europe
Our client is a privately held investment group focused on building long-term value through acquiring and developing essential businesses. The group works closely with its portfolio companies to strengthen execution, unlock growth, and build scalable operating models.
We are looking for an Operating Partner to work directly with portfolio company CEOs as a hands-on operator. The role is focused on improving business performance end-to-end — from execution discipline to commercial outcomes.
The role begins with full immersion in a single portfolio company, leading a hands-on transformation. Over time, the scope expands to multiple companies as new opportunities arise.
Responsibilities
Partner with CEOs to drive overall business performance, with a strong focus on revenue growth and P&L improvement.
Lead hands-on transformation initiatives across commercial, operational, and organisational areas.
Identify and execute key growth levers (pricing, upsell, market expansion, efficiency improvements).
Establish clear operating rhythms, performance tracking, and accountability across teams.
Step into the business where needed — from commercial discussions to operational problem-solving.
Support and challenge leadership teams to improve execution standards and decision-making.
Surface critical issues with clear recommendations and drive resolution.
Requirements
Experience working with acquired companies, including post-acquisition transformation or integration.
Proven track record of improving business performance in hands-on roles, with measurable impact.
Strong commercial foundation, ideally with experience in sales or direct revenue ownership.
Solid understanding of company-level P&L and practical growth levers.
Experience operating in or leading small to mid-sized businesses (c. 50–70 employees), ideally B2B SaaS with enterprise clients.
Ability to operate across functions and step into different roles as needed.
Strong presence and credibility with CEOs, leadership teams, and customers.
High execution speed and ownership; comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
Structured, pragmatic, and disciplined in documentation and process building.
Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
